In this post, we will show you how to turn off the Windows Firewall feature in Windows 10. Please remember that Windows Firewall is constantly protecting you and by disabling it, you have the potential to harm your computer. Always make sure you have a third party application to replace Windows Firewall or just disable it for a very short period of time.
How to Turn off (Disable) Windows Firewall
Starting with Windows 10 Creators Update, the Windows Defender Security Center can be used to quickly disable Windows Firewall.
Open Windows Defender Security System.
In the Windows Defender Security Center user interface, click the Firewall & network protection icon.
The following page will open.
Click the Private network (can be found) or Public (cannot be found) link to disable the firewall for the selected network type.
On the next page, disable the Windows Firewall option. When disabled, Windows Firewall will not block applications running on Windows 10. This will be turned off.
A UAC confirmation prompt will appear. Click Yes to confirm the operation.
Disabling Windows Firewall is a security risk. I do not recommend that you disable it permanently. Perform all the necessary checks and tests and activate them using the same options.
Turn Off Windows Firewall From Control Panel
Type ‘control panel’ in the search box.
Click on the Control Panel application.
You can list items in the control panel window.
Select ‘Windows Defender Firewall’.
Select ‘Turn on or turn off Windows Defender Firewall’.
This will take you to customization settings for private and public networks.
Select ‘Turn off Windows Defender Firewall (not recommended)’
Click ‘OK’ to apply changes
After completion, you have successfully completed the process. Your firewall will no longer be turned on. Now, connect to the Internet and make sure you have an active antivirus.
